Thousands of students and organizations across the country are joining in school walkouts in honor of those who died in the Parkland, Florida, shooting last month and to call on legislators for stricter gun laws. On March 14, at 10 a.m. ET, administrators, allies, and students of all ages will collectively leave classrooms in protest of Congress’ “inaction” on gun reform.
The National School Walkout, with over 1,000 protests organized so far, is just one of several upcoming events being held in wake of the Parkland shooting, including the March For Our Lives in Washington, spearheaded by the Parkland students, on March 23. The March 14 walkout is led by the Women’s March’s Youth EMPOWER group.

Conservative writer Mona Charen criticized conservatives for defending President Trump and supporting Roy Moore amidst numerous harassment allegations at the Conservative Political Action Conference.
Mona Charen didn’t make any friends after she spoke out against Trump at CPAC. Cenk Uygur, Ana Kasparian, and Kyle Kulinski, the hosts of The Young Turks, break it down.
“Conservative political analyst with National Review Mona Charen criticized conservatives for defending President Trump amidst numerous sexual harassment allegations at the Conservative Political Action Conference this weekend and faced an angry reaction from the audience. She writes in Sunday's New York Times why she is glad she got booed [ https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/25/opinion/im-glad-i-got-booed-at-cpac.html ].
Charen said that as a conservative, she is "disappointed in people from our side, in terms of being hypocrites about sexual harassers and abusers of women who are in our party (who are sitting in the White House), who bragged about their extra-marital affairs, who bragged about mistreating women."
"Because he happens to have an ‘R’ after his name, we look the other way, we don’t complain," he said about the party's support of Roy Moore for Senate "even though he was a credibly accused child molester."
"You cannot claim that you stand for women and put up with that," she said. "Not true! Prove it!" shouted one audience member. "It was a witch hunt!" yelled another.

Oncologists Don’t Like Baking Soda Cancer Treatment Because It’s Too Effective and Too Cheap
Published on May 3, 2017 Baking soda is used for many things, but did you know it could be used to treat cancer? How astonishing is that! Even the most aggressive cancers which have metastasized have been reversed with baking soda cancer treatments. So, why aren’t more doctors using these treatments? They tell us chemotherapy saves lives, boosts long-term survival rates and does not damage healthy cells. All these statements by the cancer industry are false. Poison kills indiscriminately always has and always will. While damaging healthy cells, chemotherapy also triggers them to secrete a protein that sustains tumor growth and resistance to further treatment. That’s right chemotherapy will actually boost cancer growth. Visit us: http://greatlifeandmore.com/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jubx33UxTRI [with comments]
Republican pollster Frank Luntz gathered a focus group of current and former NRA members in his California home to discuss the organization, gun regulations and what the country needs to do to keep students safe in their schools.
After the Parkland shooting in Florida which left 17 dead, there has been renewed scrutiny over gun laws in the United States, with many pushing for stricter control.
"These gun regulations are bogus," said one N.R.A member. “The problem is it's a cultural problem. How does that get solved? Values have to be reinstilled."
“I'm saying that there's certain guns that we shouldn't have,” another panelist said, adding that mental evaluations were essential.
Almost all panelists agreed on expanding background checks, while one maintained that those are no guarantee against a possible future attack. “You don’t know if somebody is mentally unstable until they do something,” he said.

The #MeToo movement has these moms scared. As the parents of college athletes, they are cheerleaders for their son's ambitions, but also their closest mentors in how to be responsible young men in the #metoo era. How do they reconcile a movement that's finally giving a voice to female trauma with the instinct to protect their sons?
VICE News Tonight sat down with mothers of college athletes, powerful and seemingly untouchable figures on their respective campuses, to find out how the #MeToo movement has impacted their parenting approach.
What are the uncomfortable conversations they are having? How are they teaching their boys the meaning of consent? How far are they going to make sure their boys don’t fall in the #MeToo spotlight?

Improved Hubble Yardstick Gives Fresh Evidence for New Physics in the Universe Astronomers have used NASA's Hubble Space Telescope to make the most precise measurements of the expansion rate of the universe since it was first calculated nearly a century ago. Intriguingly, the results are forcing astronomers to consider that they may be seeing evidence of something unexpected at work in the universe. That's because the latest Hubble finding confirms a nagging discrepancy showing the universe to be expanding faster now than was expected from its trajectory seen shortly after the big bang. Researchers suggest that there may be new physics to explain the inconsistency. "The community is really grappling with understanding the meaning of this discrepancy," said lead researcher and Nobel Laureate Adam Riess of the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) and Johns Hopkins University, both in Baltimore, Maryland. Laura Ingraham Announces Week Off Air As Advertisers Flee
"Florida Gunman Nikolas Cruz Knew How to Use a Gun, Thanks to the NRA and the U.S. Army"

Almost a dozen advertisers have dropped her Fox News show after she mocked a teenage survivor of the Florida school massacre.

(Reuters) - Fox News show host Laura Ingraham announced on her show late Friday that she is taking next week off, after almost a dozen advertisers dropped her show after the conservative pundit mocked a teenage survivor of the Florida school massacre on Twitter.
Eleven companies so far have pulled their ads after a pushback by Parkland student David Hogg, 17, who called for a boycott of her advertisers.
Hogg took aim at the host’s show, “Ingraham Angle”, after she taunted him on Twitter on Wednesday, accusing him of whining about being rejected by four colleges to which he had applied.
Hogg is a survivor of the Feb. 14 mass shooting that killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in the Parkland suburb of Fort Lauderdale. He and other classmates have become the faces of a new youth-led movement calling for tighter restrictions on firearms.
Hogg tweeted a list of a dozen companies that advertise on “The Ingraham Angle” and urged his supporters to demand that they cancel their ads.
On Thursday, Ingraham tweeted an apology “in the spirit of Holy Week,” saying she was sorry for any hurt or upset she had caused Hogg or any of the “brave victims” of Parkland.
But her apology did not stop companies from departing.
The companies announcing that they are cancelling their ads are: Nutrish, the pet food line created by celebrity chef Rachael Ray, travel website TripAdvisor Inc, online home furnishings seller Wayfair Inc, the world’s largest packaged food company, Nestle SA, online streaming service Hulu, travel website Expedia Group Inc and online personal shopping service Stitch Fix.
According to CBS News, four other companies joined the list Friday: the home office supply store Office Depot, the dieting company Jenny Craig, the Atlantis, Paradise Island resort and Johnson & Johnson which produces pharmaceuticals as well as consumer products such as Band-Aids, Neutrogena beauty products and Tylenol.
Hogg wrote on Twitter that an apology just to mollify advertisers was insufficient. Ingraham’s show runs on Fox News, part of Rupert Murdoch’s Twenty-First Century Fox Inc. A Fox News representative was not immediately available for comment.
