It was my understanding that the shares went from the transfer agent to the DTC and from the DTC to the participants (e-trade, ameritrade, etc). So the transfer agent wouldnt be involved any more.
The only thing the transfer agent would do now is break down the huge cert that the participants got from the DTC into smaller ones to be mailed out to us.
They should never have to go that far tho. That is the whole purpose behind the 3 day settlement rule. At the end of the 3 days the shares are supposed to be in your brokers inventory held in a street name for you.
So I don't understand why now, months later a couple of brokerage houses are having trouble verifying the BKMP common that should have divies attached to them. Unless I am missing here in the conversation....which is entirely possible!!!
I totally agree; it is total boohooie! Is there anything more I or we can do as investors to push this through and make it happen? What about SEC? Would that help? I am still sitting looking at the Etrade building and it is in hiking distance; any advice that I can take in with me would be considered.
