What?? When were there meetings or talks between ISIS Leaders and Mattis? And the MOAB decision was that of Military commanders in that region, per Trump's decision to give them more immediate decision making power, should immediate retaliation become necessary. I'm sure those military leaders advised Trump about such a bold strategy before dropping MOAB, but it was their decision/strategy that was implemented.
Mattis does not appear to be one that would take much misdirection from anyone, including Trump.

I have to disagree here. Trump's is good for stating an objective and letting others bring him the glory for success, by whatever means those he assigns the task to, feel is necessary. Screw up and make Trump look bad, you are out and suffer the embarrassment of public ouster, as a form of retribution (ie. Flynn, Manafort, Spicer, Scaramucci).

We haven't offered monetary aid to Iran for many decades.

You can call that huge cash transfer to Iran (1.7 billion in 2016) anything you want. The end result is that it was utilized, in part, to finance terrorist operations in various areas of the world.

My point was, that Trump will not be making any future cash transfers or plane shipments to Iran under any guise. It is a pity that Most Liberal Presidents adhere to the appeasement and bribe tactics of diplomacy. That money is like that "invested" in a scam penny stock.

I will grant you that area of the world presents many problems, and many of them are not simple. At least the Saudis have become participants in trying to quell terrorism in that region. For years they sat back and counted money and were hesitant to even allow air port access to American Military planes.

We could argue/discuss this forever, simply because so much has been tried and it is still an ever changing atmosphere of chaos and death over there. You are right, It is not a simple problem.
