You don't go to an auction and some paintings estimated value is ONE MILLION and it brings FIVE MILLION and say your paying to much do you?

Some of us do.

Look at GOOGLE trading at what 40 times earnings. Are you going to stop trading and say it's to much.

People who believe that short it.

As it is they just continue to short and refuse to cover until a time and place of their choosing at a profit.

And? What if someone told you you had to close a long position after a specific length of time?

This is about the stupidest thing you've said so far,

It's MM's refusing to take a loss on shares they shorted. This does serious long term damage to a company by forcing it to dilute more share into the market to operate due to the PPS being held down deliberately by the MM's that are short

Take some time to learn what a two-sided market is. Here's a clue, Market Makers short sell during a rising market. They sell at or near the ASK price to investors that are BUYING. It contributes to a RISING price. Companies do not dilute because of MM shorts, ever.

stockhound....
You say you'd be ok with it, however, let's say you wanted to be a stock at a limit order, and you're actually seeing some shares at your price trading away from you. Are you going to come on here whining that someone else just bought the stock at .0011 and you want to also, but that ask is at .0033 and how come you're not getting your order filled?
And you keep saying shorting is riskless, but it's not. You may think so because you keep buying garbage stocks. If a market maker takes on a short position and that company suddenly gets bought out at a huge premium who do you think takes the big hit? There is unlimited risk for shorters.
I do have to wonder though, if you believe that a shorter has a guaranteed winner in a stock you're looking at, why in the world would you be considering buying that stock???
What about CSHD? You think today anyone short that stock is happy?
