One of the most confusingly disjointed videos I’ve ever responded to. I'm not more than like 70% sure I understood everything he was trying to say, because of all the stumbling and horribly-constructed sentences...but either way, it was fun.

GOD ANSWERS: a new argument for God (the Dormanian argument)
Published on Apr 16, 2017 by Rational Belief In God [ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8tyNiDLFXxnxbXbQ_XeWbg / https://www.youtube.com/user/namesameasu , https://www.youtube.com/user/namesameasu/videos ] The argument nobody seems to like, yet nobody can find fault with its reasoning. Amen! P1: Negatives exist everywhere there is a positive. For example, for every "is" there is an opposing "is not," relatively speaking. P2: Negatives, as perceivable, are conceptual -- that is to say, of the mind. There are no actual voids in the physical universe.* P3: But it is unlikely negation was caused by thought in general because thought generally requires negation.** So there appears to be a dilemma between P2 and P3. C1: This dilemma is solved by there being a specific mind absolute in the truth of that which "is," including the reality of negation. From this, all other minds could, then, conceive the existence of negation and conceptualize that which isn't.*** C2: Such would be the opposite to opposition itself: the absolute-in-itself as opposed to the relative, of which there can only be one (otherwise, that, too, would be relative): God. Overall assessment: God exists. [*Any reference to “nothingness,” in physics, refers to low-energy spaces. But even energy-matter consists of relative aspects, such as potential energy and active kinetic energy. Likewise, mass may be divided into fermions and bosons, and dark energy has been called "repulsive gravity." **Pure affirmative thought isn't known to exist, nor is there any pre-negative language. For anything to be recognized, one must first comprehend a thing by what it isn't (cf. the principle of identity). ***Such knowledge would have came about top-down rather than bottom-up. After all, if knowledge of negation emerged from some extraordinary event, then it would have been derived by an organism lacking a need, not simply a want nor advantage (as mere wants wouldn't have been recognized prior to things themselves). Yet for an organism to lack a basic need, it would be in a weakened state more likely to die off rather than advance to a higher level of creating a seemingly new phenomenon of consciousness. Furthermore, when abstraction is linked to such initial causes as motility and perceptual learning, a sense of qualia is already presupposed as well as organisms already able to make evaluations on some level. Yet these are the very aspects of thought that need to be explained in order to make a sufficient theory of mind. Perhaps the idea of negation just came about because of our opening our eyes and closing them. But if that's the case, no extraordinary event ever occurred for thought to emerge from and consciousness must have already been here. This, too, is consistent with the top-down hypothesis presented here, as opposed to the bottom-up.] For more details, as well as a more formalized, deductive version of this argument, please link to: http://www.godtrustory.webs.com/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sqO4AQBsZU [with comments]

A light in the dark: NASA sounding rocket probes the dark regions of space Though stars and galaxies fill our night sky, most of the matter in the universe resides in the dark voids in between. Spread out over unfathomable distances, this cold, diffuse gas between galaxies—called the intergalactic medium, or IGM for short—hardly emits any light, making it difficult to study. Scientists plan to launch a sounding rocket for a fifteen-minute flight Oct. 30, 2017, equipped with special ultraviolet optics, which they hope will shed light on the nature of the IGM. The Dual-channel Extreme Ultraviolet Continuum Experiment, or DEUCE for short, plans to measure starlight from a pair of nearby hot stars in the constellation Canis Major, aiming to help researchers understand how the IGM got to its current state. Scientists know that the IGM, which is mostly hydrogen, has been blasted with high-energy radiation, causing the electrons to break apart from their atoms—a process known as ionization. Many think intense ultraviolet starlight from star-forming galaxies is responsible for ionizing the universe, but not all agree this is the sole cause. Since Earth's atmosphere blocks ultraviolet light, it is impossible to study this type of radiation from the ground. Instead, scientists must capture this light from above the atmosphere and sounding rockets—which provide an inexpensive alternative to space telescopes—are a practical option.
