Professor John Lennox begins by declaring himself as a believer in God. He says he's not ashamed of being both a scientist and a Christian but is tired of the constant choice being put forth to chose either God or Science.
The motivating force behind science is that the universe and the human mind ultimately stem from the same intelligent divine mind.
He goes on to say that science can find answers to almost everything in the universe apart from why it was made; only god can reveal that piece of information to us. The proof for the existence of god comes in the form of Jesus Christ, God in human form. Therefore god isn't a theory he's a person.

Dan Barker says that he used to be a firm believer in the gospel. He was evangelical. He tells of parables and fables whose story is meant to be fictional but the moral tale is what matters. He goes on to highlight that modern day Christians understand the use of metaphors in the Bible that everything should not be taken as pure gospel, but says where do we draw the line between what is real and what is myth?
Following this he states there is no hard evidence for god, that some tales in the bible can be questioned with simple logic. Also religions become secular over time, disagreeing on minor aspects within the larger body of the religion itself.

Dr Michael Shermer gives his argument against the existence of God.
Dr Michael Shermer begins by saying that 84% of the world's population believe in some kind of organised religion and how do those who believe in a particular religion know that they have chosen the right one and everyone else has got it wrong?
He proceeds to explain two pieces of evidence that proves that humans made up God and religion and not the other way around. He starts with evolutionary theory saying that we are all descendants from cautious creatures who survived in good part by making false positive rather than false negative mistakes.
The creation of an agency (an omnipotent being) within a religion is a powerful force of social control. Then the second line of evidence is the what ever social environment were born into we would be exposed to the dominant religion in that environment i.e. India -- Hinduism, Europe -- Christianity.

Peter Hitchens opens by stating that he hates this argument. He says that the opposition reminds him of his adolescent self, the worst person he ever knew. This debate is not serious, it's a matter of opinion and thereby a matter of choice. The question, he says, that should be discussed is why we choose what we choose?
Quotes Thomas Nagel, in his opinion the most intelligent atheist living today, "why is it that me and my fellow atheists want so much for they're not to be a god?"
Based on the knowledge we have, we construct a belief that helps us to discover what we ought to do and how we ought to live and if our actions have significance beyond what we immediately do.
He says that the atheists know that if everyone didn't believe in God there would be a lawless society in which we cannot trust people not to lie, cheat, steal or rape. Without the advantages of Christianity we would lose all faith in people doing the right thing.

Professor Peter Millican opens by saying he had hoped to find good reasons to believe in God by gave up looking. He says that some people need evidence for their beliefs and that he is one of these people.
The theistic hypothesis claims there is an immaterial God who's thought process can act freely of a physical body and that our thinking self can continue without our thinking brains. The human brain has been growing larger as we've evolved as a species and our heads are very large as new-born's making it dangerous for mothers during childbirth, surely if we are to go on thinking after we die we wouldn't need this evolutionary process.
He proceeds to say that every religion has a moral code but this is not surprising as humans are universally moral beings. We are moral because we are a weak species and the only way we can survive is by cooperation in society and we need a morality to be able to do that.

The Finance 202: Trump abandons plans for private help in infrastructure effort
It’s Tax Day in Washington. Republicans have finally declared defeat -- for now (President Trump has other ideas; check out his Twitter feed this morning) -- on their Obamacare repeal drive after a months-long slog to nowhere. They’re turning their attention to a framework for a tax code overhaul that House GOP rank and file will see for the first time this morning. President Trump heads to Indiana this afternoon to promote the package on the stump.
But there was a big, if quiet, development on another key Trump initiative on Tuesday. In a meeting at the White House with House Ways and Means Committee Democrats — ostensibly to get their input on taxes — the president said he’s no longer looking to find private-sector partners for a trillion-dollar infrastructure program.
The financing model doesn’t work, Trump said. From my story with Damian Paletta last night:
Trump’s comments, described by a House Democrat who met with Trump and confirmed by a White House official, reveal an infrastructure plan that appears to be up in the air, as White House officials have struggled to decide how to finance many of the projects they envision to rebuild America’s roads, bridges and tunnels.
Now, the administration wants to force states and localities to foot most of the bill. The previous strategy — a push that has taken a back seat to other Republican priorities in Washington — was aimed at luring private investors with promises of federal backing. Some of that thinking appears to be changing.
The president acknowledged the new approach during a Tuesday meeting with Democrats from the House Ways and Means Committee , who came to the White House to discuss the administration’s tax code rewrite set to be unveiled on Wednesday,

Paul Horner, Famous Fake News Writer, Found Dead at Age 38 - AP
PHOENIX — A leading purveyor of fake news in the 2016 presidential election has died outside Phoenix at the age of 38.
Maricopa County Sheriff's Office spokesman Mark Casey said Tuesday authorities discovered Paul Horner dead in his bed on Sept. 18.
Casey said the Maricopa County medical examiner performed an autopsy which showed there were no signs of foul play. He said Horner had a history of prescription drug abuse and that "evidence at the scene suggested this could be an accidental overdose."
Horner was known for writing false stories and disseminating internet hoaxes that often went viral on Facebook and hoodwinked thousands of people.
They included a story falsely claiming President Barack Obama was gay and a radical Muslim, and another saying protesters were being paid thousands of dollars to demonstrate at Donald Trump's campaign rallies.
Horner took on greater prominence during the presidential election when false stories were widely shared on social media during the race between Trump and Hillary Clinton.
In an interview with The Washington Post in 2016, Horner said he thought Trump won the White House because of him. Horner said Trump's supporters didn't fact-check his stories before posting them.
J.J., Horner's brother, said Paul considered his work satire and explained that his brother's unique eye for hoaxes and hypocrisy at a young age later worked as clickbait in the internet world.
"So I think that was a lot of the genius behind a lot of his work was pushing ideas that either people wanted to believe or thought was possible," J.J. said.

Professor John Lennox begins by declaring himself as a believer in God. He says he's not ashamed of being both a scientist and a Christian but is tired of the constant choice being put forth to chose either God or Science.
The motivating force behind science is that the universe and the human mind ultimately stem from the same intelligent divine mind.
He goes on to say that science can find answers to almost everything in the universe apart from why it was made; only god can reveal that piece of information to us. The proof for the existence of god comes in the form of Jesus Christ, God in human form. Therefore god isn't a theory he's a person.

Dan Barker says that he used to be a firm believer in the gospel. He was evangelical. He tells of parables and fables whose story is meant to be fictional but the moral tale is what matters. He goes on to highlight that modern day Christians understand the use of metaphors in the Bible that everything should not be taken as pure gospel, but says where do we draw the line between what is real and what is myth?
Following this he states there is no hard evidence for god, that some tales in the bible can be questioned with simple logic. Also religions become secular over time, disagreeing on minor aspects within the larger body of the religion itself.

Dr Michael Shermer begins by saying that 84% of the world's population believe in some kind of organised religion and how do those who believe in a particular religion know that they have chosen the right one and everyone else has got it wrong?
He proceeds to explain two pieces of evidence that proves that humans made up God and religion and not the other way around. He starts with evolutionary theory saying that we are all descendants from cautious creatures who survived in good part by making false positive rather than false negative mistakes.
The creation of an agency (an omnipotent being) within a religion is a powerful force of social control. Then the second line of evidence is the what ever social environment were born into we would be exposed to the dominant religion in that environment i.e. India -- Hinduism, Europe -- Christianity.

Peter Hitchens opens by stating that he hates this argument. He says that the opposition reminds him of his adolescent self, the worst person he ever knew. This debate is not serious, it's a matter of opinion and thereby a matter of choice. The question, he says, that should be discussed is why we choose what we choose?

The theistic hypothesis claims there is an immaterial God who's thought process can act freely of a physical body and that our thinking self can continue without our thinking brains. The human brain has been growing larger as we've evolved as a species and our heads are very large as new-born's making it dangerous for mothers during childbirth, surely if we are to go on thinking after we die we wouldn't need this evolutionary process.
He proceeds to say that every religion has a moral code but this is not surprising as humans are universally moral beings. We are moral because we are a weak species and the only way we can survive is by cooperation in society and we need a morality to be able to do that.

The Finance 202: Trump abandons plans for private help in infrastructure effort
It’s Tax Day in Washington. Republicans have finally declared defeat -- for now (President Trump has other ideas; check out his Twitter feed this morning) -- on their Obamacare repeal drive after a months-long slog to nowhere. They’re turning their attention to a framework for a tax code overhaul that House GOP rank and file will see for the first time this morning. President Trump heads to Indiana this afternoon to promote the package on the stump.
But there was a big, if quiet, development on another key Trump initiative on Tuesday. In a meeting at the White House with House Ways and Means Committee Democrats — ostensibly to get their input on taxes — the president said he’s no longer looking to find private-sector partners for a trillion-dollar infrastructure program.
The financing model doesn’t work, Trump said. From my story with Damian Paletta last night:
Trump’s comments, described by a House Democrat who met with Trump and confirmed by a White House official, reveal an infrastructure plan that appears to be up in the air, as White House officials have struggled to decide how to finance many of the projects they envision to rebuild America’s roads, bridges and tunnels.
Now, the administration wants to force states and localities to foot most of the bill. The previous strategy — a push that has taken a back seat to other Republican priorities in Washington — was aimed at luring private investors with promises of federal backing. Some of that thinking appears to be changing.
The president acknowledged the new approach during a Tuesday meeting with Democrats from the House Ways and Means Committee , who came to the White House to discuss the administration’s tax code rewrite set to be unveiled on Wednesday,
During the meeting, Trump “emphatically rejected what everybody assumed was his position relative to financing infrastructure,” said Rep. Brian Higgins (D-N.Y.), who attended and asked Trump about the proposal. “He dismissed it categorically and said it doesn’t work.”

Paul Horner, Famous Fake News Writer, Found Dead at Age 38 - AP
PHOENIX — A leading purveyor of fake news in the 2016 presidential election has died outside Phoenix at the age of 38.
Maricopa County Sheriff's Office spokesman Mark Casey said Tuesday authorities discovered Paul Horner dead in his bed on Sept. 18.
Casey said the Maricopa County medical examiner performed an autopsy which showed there were no signs of foul play. He said Horner had a history of prescription drug abuse and that "evidence at the scene suggested this could be an accidental overdose."
Horner was known for writing false stories and disseminating internet hoaxes that often went viral on Facebook and hoodwinked thousands of people.
They included a story falsely claiming President Barack Obama was gay and a radical Muslim, and another saying protesters were being paid thousands of dollars to demonstrate at Donald Trump's campaign rallies.
Horner took on greater prominence during the presidential election when false stories were widely shared on social media during the race between Trump and Hillary Clinton.
In an interview with The Washington Post in 2016, Horner said he thought Trump won the White House because of him. Horner said Trump's supporters didn't fact-check his stories before posting them.
J.J., Horner's brother, said Paul considered his work satire and explained that his brother's unique eye for hoaxes and hypocrisy at a young age later worked as clickbait in the internet world.
"So I think that was a lot of the genius behind a lot of his work was pushing ideas that either people wanted to believe or thought was possible," J.J. said.
