The information was not proprietary or inside information of any company, as it resides with Alpha, NJ not anyone else. It is therefore 'common knowledge' and able to be obtained by any citizen of reasonable mental faculty.
Of course there are probably some folks that have a difficult time discerning between unprotected common public and cicvic machinations and the illegal passing of insider information.

And everyone is freaking out about it. Why not make lemonade out of lemons. Capture the dirty methane gas at the well site and take it to where it can be burned in the Coates CSRV electric generators to make electricity for government facilities. How about using the dirty methane to make electricity instead of burning dirty coal in power plants. I am not a genius but I believe there could be a market here for dirty methane and Mr Coates' invention might just make it all happen. Gov. Christie should promote this Jersey company as a solution to this problem that his friend Pres. Trump is now having.
