katmai

This board works pretty good, particularly if you place some of the posters on "prevent messages from this poster." My list is growing, and I'm probably on a few lists. Once you sift out some of the fluff, you get to the "core group" of posters and those who want to contribute to the discussion. Makes reading the board that much easier, especially for those like me who spend too much time locked in an office in S Ca.

katmai, It is a phenomenon of human nature that we express our thoughts most often in counterpoint to those of others. Perhaps because that way we can place our positions in the greatest relief. Perhaps because it is useful in finding the truth. The territory of any conversation tends to be the space between contending opinions.

In Wave's case, you may wish to ask yourself, am I more likely to find truth by avoiding those who disagree with my position? Or am I more likely to find it amongst those whose opinions differ - so long as those opinions are sincerely expressed and well-informed?

Wave's journey has been a difficult one. It has been one whose risk is great. And calibrating that risk is a very difficult thing to do. It is made harder for Wavoids by the fact that they are unwilling to argue in territory that challenges their opinions.

Looks to me like you have a shot on IHub of hearing some reasonably helpful, but maybe somewhat contrary, opinions from people who seem sincere and generally knowledgable about technology and its markets. And using that information, you might be able to get a better measure of the debate that surrounds Wave. I don't doubt Wave's management have to convince people of the value of their technology. Maybe you could take the opportunity of doing the same.

By the way, DD board is still open. Still has a small community.
