Isn't the "legal" contract supposed to be for a "conservatorship"? The goal being to bring the company back to their independent old self. I realize that an amendment changed this outcome but based on the Billions these companies are churning out (especially so soon after the much needed "amendment"), someone had other plans for their money. If not, then most people would think they would have issued a new amendment that said "Oops somehow we didn't realize you were going to be making Billions again, it looks like we are paid off...". I think most people are just in awe and disbelief that this is actually happening and that they are getting around that intent?

FHFA is not part of the government

If FHFA were not part of Gov, then why all the letters from Congress to FHFA directing Watt on what to do? Why all the meetings between Treasury and FHFA? Who pays Watt? Where does Watt's paycheck come from? Why all the regular updates and testimonies by Watt before Congress? Who does Watt take his direction from? Who appointed Watt as Director of FHFA? What statutes and regulations does Watt follow? Who wrote Watt's position description? Does Director Watt's position have a Gov GS classification pay-scale rating?

What requirements, in your view, must be satisfied in order to be declared part of the Gov? What defining characteristics constitute being part of Gov?
