poker- no doubt sound advice.

but one should realize that the vix has been below the 50 bb for some time now. someone mentioned at the time that it was a makr of a top- well it is in a clear bear market, however until it breaks back above that area, and the mid-bb, your techincally in an uptrend. that is one reason ive been scalping long options during this time frame.

but going short in such a situation is speculative and if liquidity is rising- the a/d lin and namo are making impressive moves- that will trump short-term deviations in volatility and any drop will be limited. i mentioned tha big move down in the nasdaq volatility last week and i was concerned that it signalled a moveup or a future significant drop. interestingly, it joined the vix below the bb50, not the other way around.

another thing to look at is the short-term high lw differential. on the nasdog, it was 34 yesterday and stands at 42 currently. until that rolls over, liquidity is rising...

this can all change quickly, but ukntil it changes, it hasnt changed, has it?
