Because the CEO did not participate therefore the judge can give legal advice. On top of all that the judge is tired of their crap trying to manipulate the court system.

The way is words, I am willing to bet this is getting closer to the end of the longest battles. Finally, we can breath again.

Two proceedings going on.
This is the settlement part: both parties trying to find a settlement with the judge acting like a mediator but with legal powers: there is a settlement proposal
In the table and the judge is telling one of the party that the settlement proceeding will stop on 14th if they do not agree with the proposal that is on the table. In other terms : "stop playing , either you truly want to settle or we stop this and the court will rule on the case with the risk you know"

Okay, I can help answer this question in a little bit more detail for you guys. In this case, the presiding judge is the Honorable Elaine Bucklo and magistrates usually work for and with district court judges. In this case, I believe it is Magistrate Kim. So then, courts often appoint special magistrates or court masters to pry behind issues involving complex litigation, especially because everything is so convoluted and sometimes juries have a hard time understanding all of the facets involved.

In that case, a special magistrate would examine the labyrinthine legal issues involving all of the parties and how the civil torts play out on an even surface. Once that is accomplished, the magistrate would make a recommendation to the parties and the judge. In that way, it is very much like a probation hearing where probation officers adopt a position and the judge follows their recommendations nine times out of ten. That is especially true in these types of cases because the magistrate is privy to all of the details and can work directly with both parties.

So while I have no idea of what the outcome of this case will be, I do agree with the assessment that the case is wrapping up now and will be concluded shortly. In my opinion.
