""They had an obligation to know that that presented a problem in the sixth year whether they were told otherwise by their auditors or not. Cowan didn't decide to do the audit unilaterally...they were hired.""
That's why public companies hire these audit firms, the company needs to focus on its day to day business and leave the fine print to the auditors, that's why they get paid the big bucks, do you think a small public company should hire an outside source just to monitor the so called professional company they trust to do there paperwork?
This may very well be the case that the board should of known that Cowan was in violation by way of CG coming forward and explaining the facts, this did not happen either.....but in no way is TAUG is responsible or had an obligation to critique the auditor for supposedly doing there job 100% to the best of there ability, the responsibility and obligation to know there job lies solely with the auditor firm in question.
Cowan Gunteski are guilty of malpractice and to lay partial blame on a small public company for not knowing this rotation rule is ridiculous !!! Seth or any of the board members are not professional auditors, that's why they hire professionals, they are suppose to know these things and promptly notify the companies that hire them of any discrepancies ....
