I used to it that way too, but skipped the foil.
Worked well, especially for bigger batches.

Made 2 lbs on baking sheets minutes ago. Only mistake, being a non professional baker, is I forgot the lower shelf would be hotter..oops. Mid shelf - beautiful bacon, bottom shelf - carbon dated. But I managed to salvage some not too blackened. But I like crispy.
