thank you, glenn beck /cruz trouble this morning/ Rocky opening for GOP convention as Cruz forces clash with team Trump

The Republican convention appears to be facing a rocky opening both inside and outside the arena – inside,
from forces loyal to Ted Cruz mulling a procedural fight and outside, from anti-Trump protesters who could test the demonstration rules
set by the city.

Party Chairman Reince Priebus formally kicked off the convention
Monday afternoon, setting in motion a packed day of speeches and official party business including the platform itself.

But on the sidelines, multiple high-level GOP sources in Cleveland
told Fox News that officials loyal to Cruz
– led by former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli and
Sen. Mike Lee of Utah
– have been bargaining with the Republican National Committee and
Donald Trump campaign over procedural changes they failed to secure
in last week’s Rules Committee sessions.

Coming as some anti-Trump delegates still are trying to mount a rebellion on the floor, the Cruz camp is seeking its own changes.

Those forces want to revise the rules that will reward states with closed primaries
-- and for the RNC and Trump camp to allow Cruz’s name to be placed
in nomination from the convention floor.

For the latter to occur requires certain numbers of delegates from eight states, written signatures and more
– and the Trump campaign can move to frustrate that effort if they wish.

From their end, the Cruz forces have the power to somewhat disrupt
the convention over the first two days – albeit with little power
to affect the ultimate outcome of Trump receiving the nomination.

One threat the Cruz forces are said to be holding over the heads of
the RNC and the Trump campaign is the specter of a large group of delegates – in the hundreds – simply leaving town after Cruz speaks
on Wednesday night, exposing the nominee to the prospect of televised images of empty seats in the Quicken Loans Arena.

It’s an open question whether there are enough alternate delegates
who can be rallied to fill such a number of seats.

On the Trump side,
Republican consultant and Trump adviser Roger Stone is said to have mobilized a group of 1,000 people to push back wherever his
candidate’s interests are being threatened.

RNC Chairman Priebus was huddling with key advisers on these issues Sunday night, to a degree unusual for a sitting chairman on the eve
of the gaveling of his party’s convention; on such evenings,
the chairman is usually performing more ceremonial duties.

These sources tell Fox News that the bargaining is reaching its end.

The deal most likely to materialize would see Cruz rewarded with his name being placed in nomination, and revisions to the rules that
reward closed-primary states with more delegates,
in exchange for Cruz instructing his delegates to allow the convention to proceed smoothly and perhaps signing some kind of unity pledge.

A Republican source tells Fox News that the key sticking point is
Cruz's speaking slot and specifically the content of his speech.

The original agreement between team Trump and team Cruz allowed Cruz
to speak without offering a formal endorsement of Trump.

So far, Trump's folks have not asked to look at the speech.

Meanwhile, protests are getting underway. While demonstrations
have been held for days in Cleveland, Monday’s have the potential to
get rowdy.

One group, the Coalition to Stop Trump, is planning to march toward
the convention site, going outside the guidelines set up by the city. With at least 200 people starting to gather, the protest has brought together a mix of groups ranging from Black Lives Matter to several
pro-socialism organizations.

The city has only allowed permitted protests a considerable distance away from the arena.

Other protests are also on tap for Monday.

I disagree with you on a number of issues and very strongly.
What I'd like to know is where you get your information?

No one, muslim or not, has a RIGHT to be here illegally. With 95 million Americans out of work we don't need them. Why you think an open border is OK is beyond me. Why is the White House raising the height of the fence around it? Obviously they want to keep unwanteds out. Kind of like we want to do on our boarders.

The military is stretched too thin. With China increasing their Navy, Russia and Putin becoming more aggressive, N. Korea, Iran, and ISIS threatening we need to anticipate and keep up.

You are totally wrong about the police IMO. Where do you get the idea they are racist? I firmly believe the Ferguson rioters were the racists, not the police. The MSM is who perpetuates this crap.

You are saying that anyone in the world can say they have a right to live in the United States. Doesn't work like that.

I believe that any refugee Muslim or not has a right to seek asylum in the United States. That is what the country was founded on.

And once they are properly vetted and go through the normal steps to citizenship then OK.

Tree, a paragraph at a time.

* Muslim refugees. I'm completely against mass Muslim refuge plans. For the most part they can't be vetted. Muslim culture is nothing like Mexican, Chinese, or other foreign cultures. Muslim culture is dictated by the Koran and the Koran is not compatible with our Constitution or our society.

Allowing in Muslims in, in specific circumstances should be allowed. For one thing, individuals or individual families are more likely to assimilate.

* The Military. I don't have the numbers, but when I hear that the Air Force, Navy, and Army are smaller than they were pre WW II, it bothers me. There was a time when military size criteria was to be able to respond to major military energies at two places at the same time. Today the Air Force & Marines are pirating Plane parts from air plane grave yards and museums.

Strengthening the Military would include getting rid of the Obama suck ass officers that go along with him. It would include sane rules if engagement and stopp making the Military a lab for social experiments.

* Border Security is very important to me. When 10s of thousands of Latino children coming across the Rio Grande--we have a Border Security problem. IMO, you are listening to Gary Johnson on the financial impact of illegal immigrants. I recently heard that 40 % of the labor force in LA County is paid in cash. My guess is that most of them are illegals. I don't think this problem is isolated in LA County.

People that are paid in cash are avoiding taxes. That includes Medicare & Social Security taxes. I favor building a border fence-where practical.. I'm sick of "Buld a 50' fence and they will climb it with a 51'ladder."

Families, grand parents and pregnant women won't be scaling 51' ladders. A well patrolled border fence WILL cut down on illegal immigration.

"They add way more to the economy than they drain from it. Its not even close. "

I've heard Johnson say about the same thing. Never heard any documentation on it.

Another Johnson POV. " They fill the jobs Americans don't want." Complete Bullshit. I'm an old construction guy. I can go chapter and verse on how Latinos have taken over light construction jobs. Carpenters, roofers, painters, plumbers, electricians, concrete workers.

Now why is that? They work cheaper and they work with little regard to safety.

Ferguson PD racist & Corrupt??? That would be from the Holder DOJ report. The DOJ swarmed Ferguson and found that the shooting was justified! OMG! We got to come up with something! We had 40 FBI agents in here.

Ferguson is 70 % black, yet the PD only had 3 Blacks on a 53 person force. Were Blacks barred from the PD? Not one Black in the elected city Government. Were Black voters incarcerated during elections? If Ferguson was racist and corrupt, the Black voters got the government they deserved. Personal responsibly, or lack of, was at play.

One more point. I've heard the BS about the racist & corrupt Ferguson PD paying the town's bills with traffic fines from Black drivers.

Question. In a town where the population is 70% Black, what will be the color of those paying most of the fines?
