He used to have an assistant years ago, but at that time he had an actual law practice. As I recall, the assistant was a man. The current one, according to the pleadings, is a woman. I wondered if it might just be his mother, forwarding mail and the like. But I suspect that would have been noted.

Yes, he must have a bank account in the States; I don't see him sending the assistant relatively small amounts using wire transfers and the like.
