I think people need to understand that the "lens" shown on their website is nothing more that a test pattern of their elastic circuit embedded in a silicone hydrogel lens.
Not an autofocus lens, not a power supply, not a display... just a test pattern of the "Elastic circuit". Does it work as intended? Does it work at all? Who knows?
A lens could just as easily have a picture of Elvis embedded in it as their test pattern! What does the picture demonstrate? Just that a test lens with one of the potential patent embodiments was fabricated.
And as for that "invention", the IPEA review found that the patent demonstrated no inventive claims and cited some damning prior art!
With COO terminating the development agreement kicking EPGL out of their labs and, I'd guess that a minimum of one year will be lost and this is a very time competitive race!
