re: AAPL hardware, part of the reason we need continuous upgrades now
is that we can no longer upgrade individual components in a mac.
eg: RAM, drives, etc...
the reason i still own the overheating laptop i have
is that it was the last MBP model which still allowing upgrading of core components.
before they went with the "retina" disposable laptop concept.
now i need to bite the bullet and buy a new model.
but i remain bitter than i need to pay apple an absurb premium for extra RAM and drive space.
literally 2x-3x what i would pay for higher-quality components on the free market.
re: AAPL stock, agreed the P/E is low.
note that a lot of their cash is offshore so can't be used for USA-based R&D/growth.
the key for me is the high reliance of AAPL revenue on iphone sales
and the continued undermine of that by android devices.
unless AAPL launches another ground-breaking tech soon
eg: iWatch2 actually being useful
or a viable consumer VR package
i expect AAPL to see 85 or lower in 2016.
time will tell...
