You are right, the relative BETA values of the ETFs are quite a bit lower than I suggest for individual stocks. Even IYW and IBB aren't very high. Even so, they do great trend following allowing us to have several sequential buys or sells while the trends last. The ETFs have me working on the "price appreciation over time" aspect of the three areas we can hope to make gains. "Dividends" are available on some of them and "volatility capture" with AIM takes time with these lower BETA holdings.
I was pleased with the dividends received from several of the ETFs just recently. That extra cash won't hurt any in my IRA since I've not been able to fund that since about 1986.
