The iPad Pro reportedly takes 5 hours to charge. The MacBook takes two hours to charge. There may be a limitation on the Lightning port at 12 Watts. I'd guess that Atom laptops take far less time to charge, particularly since they aren't limited to Lightning ports.

I believe that the MacBook Pros charge in about two hours. Their adapters are rated at slightly less than the capacity of the batteries.

Intel wanted to challenge ARMH cores in power.



They've been trying to do that with Core M...

From what I have been told, Atom is very low priority within Intel and the people they have working on it are the proverbial "C" team.

Intel puts its best talent on Core/Xeon and given the product quality there, this is pretty obvious. These products are consistently class leading and in many cases the competition doesn't even come close.

You want to buy a PC or server today, and you don't have an irrational hatred of Intel? You buy an Intel based machine. Period.

IMO, Intel needs to either start giving Atom much more priority internally or they need to just kill it. The current way they're doing things just isn't working.
