Janice: You are thinking along the same lines I have for a long time. Urban was used by Turino & Edwards, so they could run the same scam they did with PCBM. They may have even used his gambling problem against him. If Urban is alive, then perhaps he has turned States evidence and is in protective custody. Who knows ??? I guess time will tell on that. I don't think Urban went into this with the intent to run a scam. I certainly don't think he was smart enough to pull it off himself, but it certainly ended up looking like he was part of it. I think the large amount of money took control of him.
Let us not forget two things...
CMKX had the rights to explore and mine for diamonds, but Koch owned the claims. At least all the early or potentially lucrative ones. The big Forte-ala-Corne "surround" play IMHO was just a big PR stunt, like the drag cars where. It wouldn't surprise me if
both those ideas were really Turino's or Edwards ideas to sell more unregistered shares.
Secondly, Edwards had control of the stock book. Why was he in control of the stock book? Urban was CEO. Was it because Turino or Edwards had control of Bagley's printing press ? or was it just because they supplied the empty shell to Urban and it was part of the deal ? I think both.
Finally I doubt many of the Seracians would have bought into CMKX if we had known Turino & Edwards were involved at all.
A liitle once burned, twice shy.... EH.
Sadly many of us found out too late to bail.
