Hmmmm GSM is not a new technology and neither is CDMA. There are several competitors in the manufacture of GSM. I guess I am missing your point here. If you are talking about some migration to 3G then possibly, but they are not going there yet...
AWE problem is all over the balance sheet as I mentioned over the weekend. Too much debt and negative net equity (and probably worst than the book is showing). Starting to harvest lunch tactics, the bu$$ second serving just went at $16.92 for $.38 and EXPE for the bucker at $75.24.
There is nothing cost efficient about GSM or any of its upgrades and that's the way they like it, go figure. They will ride that dinosaur until it's extinct. Why bother with a technology that is backward compatible, easy to maintain and cheaper to upgrade when they have the almighty GSM?
