but I am sure and VERY CONFIDENT that Matt has come up with an amazing concept, and with time will dominate the message boards.

Gee you remind me of somebody. Yes that Matt is one sharp dude ... just make sure you don't land his butt in jail. I hope you are getting advice from lawyers who are experienced in Cyber Law! Some of the things I see going on here don't seem right. I wish you all the best but this place doesn't seem right to me.

P.S.S.: If you're going to have all these stock touts about the least you could do is charge them to post ... that's good business ... and those are the clowns that made SI successful ... in the end they also caused the downfall. It's a rough ride when you're in bed with stock promoters.

Negative posters are typically unable to short the stock about which they're posting.

Their motivation can be and often is altruism and a certain amount of anger at seeing inexperienced "investors" getting fleeced. Many being former fleecees themselves.

This misconception of "negative posters are bashers, and bashers are in it for the money and should be stopped" is very problematic.

Do you have any interest! You seem to hate promoters. Yet you insist on negative views. That seems to be an interest in the company!

When talking about stocks, "interest", "financial stake", and "position" are generally regarded as being synonymous. Is that what you mean?

And when you say "you insist on negative views", that's pretty misleading because it's missing a word right before "negative". If that word were "having" ("insist on having negative views"), that's quite different from "allowing only" ("insist on allowing only negative views").

The former is not a problem and I don't see why it should be considered a problem. The latter is a big problem. Or, in my opinion, should be considered one.

The matter of whether or not messages should be removed from a site by people who don't want the other side of the story discussed is a major issue. It's a recipe for abusive manipulation of available information and has already been used that way.

And putting "editorial" power beyond the scope of a site's stated rules (or even a chairman's own stated rules) into the hands of participants with a financial stake in the nature of the conversations may very well change the site from "Carrier" (and therefore protected by CDA) to "Publisher" when that power inevitably gets abused, as it already has.

I'm not a lawyer (though I was wanting the input of one) but I do have a pretty good idea of how sites protect themselves from being named in shareholder lawsuits.

1. No sane person would leave a confidential document/file in the public part of their site. If someone wants the document to be confidential, they should be made to sign a confidentiality agreement BEFORE they see the plan. Also, if you don't want people to see you naked, don't stand in the street naked. Get naked in your house behind closed doors. People poke all around my sites looking for files, doors...and I make sure everything is locked. Any prudent web person would.

2. I am the chairman of umcc but I didn't start the board. The board had no chairman for a while so I decided to take the position so the board wouldn't die. I did not want to be the chairman. I still don't.

I think Matt's ihub idea is not a good one. Without bob, it will turn back into a pumpers paradise. Francois board is a great example. All negative posts are deleted. That jagfn board was another great example. I'm sure matt is working with jagfn. He most certainly is an affiliate. I also think matt's business plan won't make it. People are so sick of message boards and hypesters and stock promotion sites. They have been burned so badly and lost so much money because of them.
