Your letter citing the law with cases can't be ignored. The issues brought by you "MUST" be responded to in order to make an argument (for/against). Citing case law/decisions is very powerful. If it's on the docket, then it must be addressed.
The information/facts in your letter leave an opening for appeal. Which is why the judge will way all facts. No judge likes being over turned. Kinda like getting a black eye when not looking.
It's an insult to the judge's integrity/experience.
