If I may be so assuming, you sound well educated, and that usually takes money.
That's the unfortunate reality. If I were to guess,
I'd say you haven't had a horribly difficult life. But I am guessing...
Probably much easier than even the "brown people" in Red Bank?...

Well i don't think you need to be an hispano to understand that to make exclusively compulsory one language is to spit in the face of the native who speaks another ..... like, duh - why else legislate such a thing .... why not leave it a 'by custom and practise' sort of affair?

Native? I am a California native. I have latino friends who are California natives and who never learned spanish. It's only the immigrant population that predominantly speaks spanish only. If I went to another country I would expect to learn the language. I would not expect them to bend over backwards to accomodate me. I believe the best thing we can do to help immigrant children become a part of our community is to help them learn English as quickly as possible.
