That's what i would do too, help them to learn english, encourage them in every way to do so [and few need encouragement, they learn as fast as they can], in fact like i say i'm driving english down the throat of a mejicano in the deep southeast at the moment, as condition of financing his education ... and i preach the learning of english to mejicanos all the time, people who know me flinch when the subject comes up, it's a family joke, i take whole bundles of language books south every time i go
What i would not do, is ban spanish from anywhere ... that's not the way, it is counter to all that those wonderful words of liberty stand for, and it's wrong .... there is absolutely no need to legislate any 'official' language in the US, english is far and away the most-used tongue and is not endangered in any way, leave it as a custom and usage thing and it'll be fine [England, freakin England, has no 'official' language, think about it, what a ridiculous idea] ..... for what it's worth i think Bill 101 of the quebecois is a xenophobically racist move by small minds too, you may not know what that is, well you're lucky then, don't ask ..... later, cháu
