I interpret F.O.B. to represent the cost to get the ore onto the shipping vessel and C.F.R. to include the costs to ship from the loading site to the delivery site.

Those are the industry-standard definitions. CFR rates are generally quoted for delivery at Tianjin, China.

CLF—From today’s CC: freight cost from the Bloom Lake port in Sept-Îles, Quebec (on the Gulf of Saint Lawrence) to Tianjin, China averages $25-30 per metric tonne.

Also, CLF's Bloom Lake output receives a $9/tonne premium to the 62%-Fe spot price due to its Fe content of 66%.

I attribute CLF’s 7% rise today to a growing expectation that Casablanca will win the proxy fight next week. That management used yesterday’s quarterly CC as a soapbox to plead for votes suggests to me that management thinks its chances of winning are low.
