Mickey you are assuming that there wasn't any turnover of shorts. Do you really think that all of the people who shorted at $13.00 are still short? Part of the run-up was due in part to the shorts covering. Same is true on the long side of it...I bought my original shares at $6.00 and have long sold them at much higher prices only to wait for a pullback to buy the shares back. I've been doing this very successfully for years. Yes I'm buying them back at higher prices BUT I'm buying back a few points lower than I sold them for. Same is true on the short side of it. I also think that many of those short shares are hedges.
