Re: That is only because Vista isn't out yet. If it is a Socket 939 motherboard, it likely has 4 DIMM sockets. And that allows for 4 gig. For the Vista beta, the minimum memory is 512 meg. Given the minimum for XP Pro is 128 meg., that seems to indicate >2 gig. is really going to be needed from keep it from swapping on anything but Notepad.

That happens to be the popular conspiracy theory of the week, that Vista will have such monumental memory requirements, that Core Duo won't be able to run it. LOL, pretty funny how you guys can convince yourselves that Intel's premium high end, tried and true platform, somehow didn't have the foresight to support MSFT's mainstream OS. It's a laugh, but if it gets you by, go ahead and enjoy the theory while it lasts. smile
