I've come onto something interesting and I suppose only Danny Hammett himself could answer the question. In the course of my due diligence on IENT and because I have an interest in motorcycles as well, I noticed that in the second paragraph of Danny's bio, both here on IHUB and on the IENT website, Danny's bio states,
"Starting as a competitive motorcycle racer and becoming a Top 20 AMA Outdoor National Competitor and Top 10 World Gran Prix Racer"
What's interesting about this bio is that I have been in contact with the AMA's National Headquarters in Pickerington, Ohio. I've talked with 2 different people there, both of which manage different databases, and the information they could provide went back to 1972, with much less detailed information prior to 1972.
The bottom line is that the AMA has no record of a motorcycle racer named Danny Hammett going back to 1972. And while I am not making any accusation's here, it does raise some serious questions as to why this claim in Danny's bio isn't checking out with the AMA.
