badgerkid, will share a few personal opinions that have been formed after watching my own IDCC investment very closely for several years now.

1) The "patent licensing" business model has some risks that I did not fully appreciate when I decided to invest in one of those ventures. InterDigital has been, and still is, dependent on the international legal system to enforce it's patent rights.

2) The lack of effectiveness and efficiency in that international legal system is being exploited by some big nasty wireless firms like Nokia to delay/avoid making royalty payments to InterDigital for the tech we own. It's shocking to watch those big firms make huge profits year after year with our patented tech while the legal system flounders and wallows. IMO the courts are complicit in the crime of theft by taking. Taking from me and you!

3) If the courts will not afford protection of your patent rights, break pattern and think parallel. Attack the big nasty criminals who refuse to pay in a different venue. Screw the sleepy court systems, become an "arms merchant" selling your wireless tech to any and all wireless manufacturers willing to do battle with those big bad criminals like Nokia.

If IDCC has anything like the engineering capabilities that I thought they had when I invested(BTW - I'm more confident than ever that they do!), then InterDigital can become a world class "Research and Development" firm for hire by every firm who wants to manufacture and sell commercially competitive 3G handsets.

Nokia and the other wireless bad boys may have second thoughts about pissing in IDCC's boots after a wild and hungry bunch of new competitors who partnered with InterDigital for tech development start eating away a big slice of their market shares.

Sic'em Uncle Bill. Attack with infrastructure from a recovering American giant and handsets from the Asian tigers. Put plenty of IDCC tech inside those new products, and make certain that we collect our "fair share" of the booty.

4) The "time to money" for IDCC investors will still be my primary concern even if we see that scenario unfold(?), but at least we will get to watch something other than PACER entries for a change. LOL!
