Good points. But here's my theory:

A promo is underway, be it just a frontloaded dormant stock or a company or toxic finance holder ready to dilute into a pr.
Mms know that people will buy into the publicity and excitement from the promo.
Mms know there is a limited amount of existing sell orders.
Mms know that the frontloaders/diluters will sell when volume comes in and most likely continue to sell at any price until they are out of shares.
So they short shares as the price climbs knowing full well that there will be a large amount of shares for sale for an extended period which they can buy to cover their short position.

I wish I had Internet access so I could include some charts which would help demonstrate my point. We've all seen the charts with a one or 2 day spike. We've all seen the daily short information. We know mms have 3 days to cover. Not a coincidence, imo that runs can be so short. I'll use BLSP as a recent example and say this - if you could sniff out the dilution to come would you have shorted it at .01 or higher on the first day it ran last week?

My posts are my opinion. Do not be influenced by anything you read on any message board website unless you can confirm it.
