CUB was +4% today on a day when the broad market was hammered. Why? Because the CEO and founder, Walter J. Zable, died at age 97: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/cubic-corporation-reports-death-founder-130000367.html Zable’s advanced age has been one of the reasons I’ve owned CUB for the last few years. In #msg-58908872 I said: I like the tie-in of CUB's mass-transit business with The Global Demographic Tailwind. The company also has buyout vig insofar as the founders/officers are older than sin and may be inclined to sell. Other investors evidently concur that Zable’s death means the chance of a buyout at a nice premium just went up.
