Yes SS fraud im sure happened back then , but then again when did it ever stop. I was in a temp agency a few months ago and the personel redirected the Mexican imigrants to the supervisors office because the SS office said they could not verify the SS numbers that they gave them. I heard the supervisor tell them that they need to go to the SS office to get the matter cleared up. While this was going on you could see across the parking lot two toddlers playing in the back seat. Im thinking two wrongs within minuites, fraud and neglect. But miles down the road im sure the same thing is going on. I was at a Wendy's and some Mexican women were raising sand with the manager because they could not get the pay check for their last two weeks of work. The manager pointed to the line inder the SS number that once had someones name and signiture it had been erased clear as day and signed by someone else. The manager did the right thing and told them to bring back a valid SS card and they could get paid. He told other employees after they left that he was not going to put his job on the line by accepting that card.
