The Dow increased 45.79 (or 0.35%) closing at 12949.87, the Nasdaq was down 8.07 points (or -0.27%) to finish at 2951.78 and the S&P was up 3.19 (or + 0.23%) to finish at 1361.23.

Today's movement came from higher than avg. volume (NYSE 897 mln, vs. 808 mln avg; Nasdaq 1879 mln, vs. 1692 mln avg), with advancers outpacing decliners (NYSE 1685/1291 Nasdaq 1280/1250), and with new highs outpacing new lows (NYSE new highs/new lows 179/0 and NASDAQ new highs/new lows 128/11).
