mlsoft -- the primary problem IMO for folks who believe as you do, is your belief of "time"

The open system of scientific inquiry of the nature of the universe has always been oriented toward the measurement of time -- using the speed and components of light, the size and age of the universe, life and death of stars and the distance between stars and galaxies have been measured with considerable precision.

Your closed system excludes these measurements and of course without time measured in 100s of million of years, evolution is not possible.

Those working in the open system will continue to refine, measure, discover, imagine, hypothesize and propose new or corrected truths

Those in the closed system have little need for such work, the age of the universe is known to be less than x years. [x = 1mm, 100k, 30k ??] Therefore, the sun is not a second generation star, evolution did not happen, the Grand Canyon does not contain layered rock laid down over 100s of million of years, the continents did not drift to their present positions over millions of years and are still drifting, the -- so much phenomena that the closed system cares not to comprehend as the "truth" is already known.

Have you any links to the creationists explanation of time and the age of the universe that they have attempted to have published in scientific journals ??
