We live in a closed system. In that system current speculation is that there are 4 dimensions. None of those dimensions are constant. Many of the discrepancies between what is observed on the quantum level and what is observed on the quotidian level suggest that there may well be other dimensions.

The "Arrow of Time" always points forward but what seems like a lifetime might be but a moment from another perspective.

Let us revisit the just created Adam, this time with a team of scientists. They would run all sorts of tests and conclude an age of whatever, 20?? 30?? it does not matter, but they would give you all sorts of irrefutable positive scientific proofs that he had been around for a long time, yet he would actually be only seconds old. Why would the same scenario not be possible, even plausible for the universe as a whole, created by the same God in the same manner at the same time?
