Anyone have the transcript handy when Jerry Sanders of AMD CEO fame told the court that if Microsoft were to integrate financial software into Windows for free and destroy the competition in this sector, then it's just too bad for the financial software vendors; "they should have designed a more competitive product"?
I really wish the prosecutor cross-examined and asked what it takes to be more competitive than free software, especially software that offers 95% of what end-users need.
(Personally, I don't mind Microsoft's integration tactics, but they should not do so for free at the expense of their competitors. They could have easily released a Windows XP+ edition that comes with the browser and media player, etc. But if AMD supports free access to software at the expense of competition, then they are complete hypocrites to complain here.)
