Market has priced in a big premiums IDCC may get from buyout offer, now expecting buyout offer in the $85 to $100, that is what the stock and options are pricing now, do not under estimate market's collective knowledge how much IDCC is worth, there are many people know how much the buyers are willing to pay.
No doubt, the current market share price in relation to sell out expections is in the back of everyones minds, but I would think IDCC would not have put themselves up for sale for $85 to $100 if they thought as merritt stated that IDCC's patents were deeper and stronger than nortels.
Seems with other companies, there are rumors and then one day, unexpectedly there is a sale such as with mmi. Even nortel, everyone had some information as to the amount of the stalking horse bid and the names of the players that were going to be in the auction. Some of the bidders, I believe actually announced they were in the bidding process.
Not such the case with IDCC. Nope!!! Going true to form. IDCC announces they are seeking strategic options and that's it folks. Just like waiting on the cafc, we're left here to get second hand rumors such as the labor day event which is a rumor only and here we are as usual left to wait day after day trying to connect the dots. We actually don't know if google was the company that started all the strategic options bit in the first place, we just connected the dots on that one also. .. nic
