Grand Poobah, I read the link you provided and after reading said link I am even more confounded about Barrick's declaration that they may not disclose litigation if a negative result seems remote.
The new FASB rules actually seem to tighten the threshold for reporting. So, it seems Barrick chooses to continue to go in the opposite direction than the rules suggest they should.
This seems par for the course as Barrick says and does what it wants all over the world, with relatively little if any negative consequence. Hopefully that practice will soon becoming to an end:) rover
