Why the clock is ticking....

The patent is only good for 20 years from the date of application:
2/18/2009. The process was started via a provisional patent which supercedes the 2/18/2009 date. The provisional patent was applied for in 2008 (do not know the exact date in 2008).
This puts the expiration date of the patent 17+ years from right now. Although the patent just issued, the clock for its protection has been legally ticking for some time (2008).
With 15%+ of the legal protection of the patent already expired upon the eve of its being issued, YOU CAN BET THEY KNOW THAT THE CLOCK IS TICKING.
