mimurray, that was very interesting to read as i'd seen the Norton negatives you mentioned a year, maybe two years ago, here.

Actually, i do have have a free McAfee Security Scan Plus, it runs itself once in awhile, and, lol, on checking my
program list just now, see i also have Malwarebytes, the free version .. haven't used it lately, but will from today.

I also have the free Advanced System Care 3 ..

one also recommended some time ago, i run it everyday.

Thanks, too, very much for your input .. am going to try the frees for
now .. chuckle .. i'll save the $59 Norton would cost me this year.
