re: It was speculated here once that if significant losses from AMD's CPU business continued, that one possible solution was for them to become a flash only company, and drop the CPU business.

By me, about 5-10 posts ago.

It could be argued that AMD's current weak efforts in microprocessors are an indication that they plan to get out of the business. That hammer is one last shot.

The new management may be moving in a different direction. Just speculation.
