I think that you are quite correct on this. The idea that creaming profit from the market(actually other investors) is a piece of cake is regarded with suspicion: things must be made so complex that it is no longer fathomable, and then people will stand in line to buy it as they believe the complexity will do the trick.

It's a dilemma!

Why make it simple if you can make it difficult just as easily?

Efficient marketing is the key, of course.
