OT.

Well, we had fun this weekend. Had some psycho with a golf club attack the house. He broke two outside windows. Called 911 and the police nabbed him trying to come in the front door. Made him lie spread eagle on the ground for about 30 mins. in about 0 F temperatures. LOL.

Anyway, it hit home to me how unprepared I was for this type of an event - as I was groping around the house looking for a weapon. If only the pooch were another 6 months older it could have been a lot of fun, but instead I was far too complacent. As it turns out, it likely would not have been much of a problem had he gained entry, but in the dead of night at 3:30 in the morning you have no clue.

I have been meaning to get some firearms for a long time, but have been "too busy" to take the firearms courses that are 'required' up here in Canada. (for all us law abiding citizens anyway)

Previously I had always been able to rely on myself. I am trained in fighting skills and up until maybe 5 years ago I was very big. But, people change and it made me realize that I am not the guy that used to incapacitate a 200+ pound men with a two-hand shot to the chest.

Going to get some 'protection' this morning. Perhaps you all should think about this type of a situation and ensure you have something to assist you in the unlikely event this happens to you.
