People complain about what it costs to go to a baseball game today. They should try Nascar sometime. We took our son to qualifying at Martinsville yesterday. Mind you this wasn't even the race when tixs go for $40 to $100+.

Tixs $30; $15 each. Kids under 12 get in free for qualifying.
Program $10
Parking $15
M&M Driver jacket $60. (Adults are $100)

Total: $115.

The good thing is most people tailgate which we did so food was supplied by us from the grocery. Nascar lets you bring in your own soda and beer too.

The drivers are great with the kids however. Most stopping outside the track afterwards to sign autographs. And they'll tell you that they are only SIGNING FOR KIDS. Also they have trailers for every driver set up outside the track with lots of stuff going on. Nextel had a race car simulator and took pictures that you could retrieve off the internet later that day.

What else is a Yankee fan going to do when his team got eliminated. Go Rusty!
