Finally started taking my little 17' center console offshore for bottom fish, halibut, bigger lingcod, "snapper" (really Yelloweye Rockfish, but they look and taste like red snapper. I won't go much more that 7-8 miles out though unless conditions are absolutely perfect.

Here's a friend with a 55lb halibut caught Monday this week. While hauling it up from about 160' he slipped and landed flat on his back in the boat....but he never stopped reeling, it was pretty funny to watch.
