V,
Yes, God himself sacrificed in the garden to cover the sins of Adam and Eve and provide clothes for them as well. The scrifice pointed to CHRIST!
The ritualistic sacrifices pointed to Christ also but never cleansed sin. It only covered it and the sacrifices were used by God to teach the people and point them to Jesus. The LAW taught them they could not live a sinless life and pointed them to a Savior. The same one you and I have.
So if we hold to that concept about our views changing of the N.T., does that mean we really could do without the entire Old Testament scriptures and just use half a Bible?
Are not the O.T. scriptures applicable to today?
Why not?
What did God do away with beside the LAW? NOT the ten commandments.
Why did GOD do away with the LAW?
Because Christ fulfilled it! IT POINTED PEOPLE to CHRIST the MESSIAH, and since He has come, there was no need to keep it in place. The BLOOD of CHRIST was shed once for ALL.
Please spend some serious time in Hebrews chapters 9 and 10.
The blood of bulls and goats was not what saved people. It also only covered the sins, not cleanse the sins.
HIS sacrifice was sufficient once for ALL, old and new, to cleanse us from our sins, and remember them no more, as far as the east is from the west.
Again, blessings in Christ,
mib
