Rox, you are comparing apples and oranges again. Our discussion involves Samsung's selection of the IDCC/IFX chip (and Apple's apparent selection of the same chip). You suggest that Samsung selected a product inferior to Qualcomm's for the sake of price (or whatever). While it may be true that Qualcomm is offering or will offer a superior chip - because improvement is constant; Samsung has unequivocally stated that the IDCC/IFX chip is cheaper and of the same quality as the (comparable) Qualcomm chip.

Here's what you said (and was deleted):"Most know that the chipset in question from Infineon is at a lower tier......than Qualcomm's high end products in WCDMA". Again, apples and oranges, right?

InterDigital's chip development seems to be bleeding edge technology as indicated by the sale of modem tech to IFX, NXP and "a leading asian semi manufacturer", and by the development of the SlimChip. How many more design wins or tech transfer deals is it going to take for you to give some respect to our little gem?

(Speaking of apples and oranges - barbeque and beer sound real good ;)
