I've seen that a few times on computers I've diagnosed.

Each time it was some stupid program running in the background that refused to shut down.

Twice it was Norton...have you installed anything recently? Kill anything you don't need.

Do you have a lot of programs running in the background/over to the bottom right?

You may want to give this a whirl if you've got a kid to help you ;)
