Some suggestions:

1) Make sure your Windows is fully patched.

2) If you can, see if your BIOS version is current. I would start at the manufacturer's support site to see how to do that.

3) If you did not reformat your disk when you reinstalled Windows:

From My Computer, right-click on the C-Drive. GO to Properties, then Tools-Error Checking. Click Check Now, then check both boxes. Part of the disk scan will run after you reboot, and it could take quite some time. This will scan for bad spots on your disk and try to remap them.
